Bio:

Isabella Farren is a painter from Maine whose work explores the relationship between memory, place, and the natural world. Working across painting and print-based processes, her work engages themes of impermanence, material transformation, grounded in attention and a deep connection to place.

Farren’s practice is rooted in the Kennebunk River, where she returns seasonally to observe, paint, and gather materials. She has participated in an artist residency at Watershed Studios in Galway, Ireland. In addition to her studio practice, she is the owner and artist behind Bell’s Shells, a small business based in Kennebunk, Maine.

She received her Bachelor of Arts from Colby College and is currently pursuing her MFA in Painting at Savannah College of Art and Design.

Alongside her studio practice, Farren is deeply committed to art education and hopes to continue building a career as both a practicing artist and educator. Farren has developed her teaching practice through roles including art education intern at the John D. Runkle School in Brookline, Massachusetts, teaching intern at SCAD, and currently as an assistant teacher and art enrichment instructor at Crooked Pines School in Kennebunk, Maine.
